First-time Superbowl advertisers gamble on Superbowl

What recession? The Superbowl ad slots are already sold out, even with a jump to about $3.5 million from $3 million for a 30 second slot but there are some new advertisers who will be rolling the dice on getting their money's worth.  Regulars like Anheuser-Busch snapped up 4.5 minutes for this year's game in Indianapolis.  The new companies plunking down millions include....

Dannon which reportedly will be pitching healthier snacking habits to the Superbowl crowd. Would you like a field berry yogourt parfait with your Budweiser!!!!!  Another newcomer is H & M which will trot out L.A. Galaxy star David Beckham in a new line of underwear(I think it's called bodywear these days).  He needs the money. Afterall Becks turned down one million a month from a French soccer club to resign with the Galaxy this week. Acura, Lexus and Century 21 are a few of the other Superbowl newcomers gambling that an audience of 110 million tv viewers  plus the social media component will move some stock.   According to David Lubars of super agency BBDO which has produced countless campaigns for the big game, including one for M&M's this year according to USA Today, "there is no middle ground on the Super Bowl, you either kill or get killed,"
