When you're battling Facebook to be the big social network on the block, you have to listen to the people.  Google + has had a change of heart and will now allow nicknames.  Google + recently bumped users who had used fake nicknames or pseudonyms but..

it was argued that some people are better known by their assumed names.  CNN reports that Google + recognized that there are certain areas of the world where it is safer to conceal one's identity.  Members, starting this week will be allowed to add a nickname to their real one or change their real name to an assumed one.  Facebook also requres users to register with real names but can revoke usernames for various reasons though they do have over 800 million users to check on.  Google + is on its way, reporting recentlhy that it has over 90 million accounts and it has been up and running only seven months.
