CHBC Television in Kelowna, B.C. has reportedly issued a new round of layoffs. The Kelowna Capital News reports that the layoffs include five in the technical operations and six in the news department. The station is quoted as concentrating on its three daily newscasts at noon, 5:30pm and 11pm and is making changes due to technical moves. The paper quotes a CEP Union spokesperson as saying the technical layoffs were prompted by a decision to move the station's master control to Calgary, a move already made at other Global stations but delayed in Kelowna due to technical issues.
