Sunday December 12th is an anniversary every radio person should appreciate. It was December 12th 1901 that Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi flashed the first wireless signal across the Atlantic to Signal Hill, Newfoundland.

Marconi transmitted the letter "S" across the ocean to a studio near St. John's Newfoundland, which you see in the picture above. In a way it was an early "texting".
